Investing in our Students

REBUILD MY CHURCH: OUR CENTRAL GOAL

"The world has given young people plenty of reason for anxiety. We want to give them reason for trust and hope and peace. We want to show them that God is faithful and he always provides what his children need."

Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR '89

President, Franciscan University of Steubenville

REMOVING BARRIERS TO EDUCATION

Every year, hundreds of intelligent, faithful young people, eager to become part of the new generation of builders for which St. John Paul II called, apply to Franciscan University. And every year, many of those students have no idea how they’ll afford to attend Franciscan if they’re accepted.

Franciscan University has worked hard to keep the cost of our tuition low. We also work hard to get our students the help they need.

Nevertheless, the total net cost to our students remains high because we can’t offer our students the scholarship aid other colleges and universities offer.

Franciscan by the Numbers:

2

Average number of children in the American family.

5

Average number of children in families that send a child to Franciscan University.

90

Percentage of Franciscan University students who receive financial aid.

45

Percentage of students who receive scholarship assistance.

75

Percentage of college students who graduate from other schools with no remaining commitment to their Catholic faith.

This is not the case at Franciscan University.

"[A] new generation of builders is needed. Moved not by fear or violence but by the urgency of genuine love, they must learn to build, brick by brick, the city of God within the city of man." -Pope St. John Paul II

SUPPORTING OUR STUDENTS

Through the Rebuild My Church Campaign, you can help these students in two ways:

1. Immediate Impact Scholarship gifts, which go directly to students at the time of your donation.

contributions can be gifts of any size, given one time, monthly, or pledged.

contributions are unrestricted gifts of $10,000 or more that provide tuition assistance for students who would not otherwise be able to attend Franciscan.

2. Endowed scholarship gifts of $100,000 or more, which are invested in the University's endowment and accrue earnings that fund scholarships in perpetuity.

St. Junípero Serra Fund Scholarships support young men as they prayerfully discern a priestly or religious vocation together with like-minded young men.

AN INVITATION

Students gladly make the decision for Franciscan University if finances aren't an obstacle.

With your help, we can continue to educate the next generation of builders and send forth faithful disciples, ready to serve wherever God calls them, without the crippling burden of student loans.

Together, we can educate, evangelize, and send forth future generations.
